Savor the Incredible Flavors of San Miguel

Visit a boutique winery in Mexico’s central highlands — food & wine samples included — during your stay at a luxurious heritage hotel. Plus, stroll the cobblestone streets of the city in search of regional favorites with a fun taco-and-tequila tasting tour.

About Your Trip

Raise your glass and toast to flavorful adventures with this amazing Platinum DreamTrip for guests ages 18 years and older in and around San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. With 2 fabulous excursions — the first exploring local wine varietals matched with gourmet food samples and the next delving into tequila-based cocktails and regional specialties — you’ll immerse yourself in a vibrant food culture that’s increasingly important on the world stage.

Starting at Vinedos San Lucas (San Lucas Winery), enjoy a tour of the vineyards, followed by a personalized tasting experience. You’ll sample red, white and rose wines along with delicious bites that are expertly paired for your enjoyment by the on-site sommelier and the winery’s gourmet chef — your tour also includes a 4-course lunch on this pretty property.

Your next outing brings you to the old town district of San Miguel de Allende, where you’ll marvel at the colonial-era architecture as you sip, sample and stroll the ancient streets. Taste regional variations of the taco — at least 4 different kinds — and learn how to make classic cocktails with tequila, Mexico’s enduring favorite spirit. Culinary journeys have never been this much fun!

When you’re not imbibing top-rated vintages, you’ll experience the ultimate in luxurious comfort and relaxation at Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada. This boutique hotel and cooking school caters to the world's most discriminating travelers, offering world-class service, premium amenities and an inspiring setting in the hills of central Mexico. The rooms and suites celebrate the spirit of San Miguel, characterized by furnishings, art, antiques and fabrics that are unique to each room and add a touch of charm. No wonder this incredible property is part of Virtuoso, the global luxury network of leisure travel advisors.

What we love:

• You’re sure to find a new favorite wine during your tour of Vinedos San Lucas — after all, this winery specializes in the production of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo and other grape varietals, so there’s something to suit every taste.
• Your evening taco-and-tequila tour through historic San Miguel de Allende features full-sized portion samples —enough for a satisfying dinner.
• To maximize your enjoyment, download the DreamTrips™ app to access DreamTrips Local — then earn points on dining, entertainment, spa experiences & more at select spots recommended by DreamTrippers just like you!
