Train rides:• A passenger service attendant will share facts about the area during the train ride.
• Musicians commonly roam the train playing tunes for passengers.
• Before the train departs on Day 2, the Cataract Creek Gang and the town marshal perform a square off at Williams Depot.
• Before the train departs on Day 3, the cowboys will perform a train robbery.
Refreshments on the train: • Complimentary refreshments including fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and juice will be provided during the morning train ride on Day 2.
• Complimentary snacks and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided during the afternoon train ride on Day 3.
• Beer, wine and mixed drinks will be available at an additional cost.
• Due to the high altitude, the train doesn’t sell bottled water. We recommend that you bring your own water bottles.
Weather: • The Colorado Plateau has a semi-arid climate, which can cause water sources to be scarce. However, Williams typically has snowy winters, and the snowmelt provides the region with its water source.
• We recommend that you dress in layers, and bring a hat, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes and a flashlight.
Wildlife: • As you travel through the forests of Grand Canyon country, keep your eyes out for elk, mountain lions, mule deer, squirrels and skunks.
• In the high desert, it is common to see pronghorn, which look like antelope, and a variety of birds including bald eagles, horned owls, ravens and California condors.
• While at the South Rim, you’ll notice the animals are accustomed to humans, but please do not feed the animals as this increases their dependency on people for food.
